This simple human-like hand uses multiple motors with one long tendon roped through the fingers to close and relax the hand, and move the fingers independently.

This technology combined with exponentially improving AI systems is allowing for an increasing Robotic hands that appear and act like human hands are constructed in a way that makes them very similar to the real thing. In fact, most of these hands feature tendons (cables) and fingers that work together much like human hands do to open and close for the manipulation of objects array of uses for the robot hands.

The end effector, or robotic hand, can be designed to perform any desired task such as welding, gripping, spinning etc., depending on the application. For example, robot arms in automotive assembly lines perform a variety of tasks such as welding and parts rotation and placement during assembly.
Robotic arms, aptly named because they resemble a human arm, are typically mounted to a base. The arm contains multiple joints that act as axes that enable a degree of movement. The higher number of rotary joints a robotic arm features, the more freedom of movement it has.
